Donald Trump portrays himself in this cameo role, though his name is not spoken in the film. At the time, he was the actual owner of the Plaza Hotel and, according to director Chris Columbus, allowed filming on the property on the condition that he be given a cameo in the film.[2] However, Trump denied this, claiming that the production crew begged him to be in the movie.[3]
