Just Me In The House By Myself was the first episode of the web series :DRYVRS - it was special due to the first appearance of Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister since Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. The episode depicted Kevin in a less-than-sane state, with him taking revenge upon anyone he believes is a home invader as well as facing trauma from the first two films (with the infamous Home Alone 4 being ignored).

However, as this story was from a series not sanctioned or endorsed by 20th Century Fox at any point despite the prominent involvement of Culkin, and later Daniel Stern, the information present within this story and the others in :DRYVRS series may not be entirely accurate with the larger Home Alone franchise.

Plot[]

Jack is waiting for an Uber-type service :DRYVRS. His ride pulls up, and Jack enters the car, to see an older Kevin McCallister. Jack asks Kevin if he is alright, and Kevin tells him that he is not; Kevin's wife Anna McCallister was supposed to drive, but she had incapacitated herself from "doing too much blow", forcing Kevin to do her job despite him already having plans, which is worsened due to Kevin not knowing how to drive. Upon hearing this, Jack offers to drive, and they switch seats.

Setting off, Kevin declines a phone call from his mom. Jack says that Kevin doing that was ice cold, but Kevin replies that what is actually cold was his mistreatment when is was young, being left home alone for a week to fend for himself and protect his home from "two psychopath home invaders who didn't even curse". Kevin also adds that he still has nightmares about the bald one. Jack asks if his mom tried to save him, but Kevin believes that she didn't care, noting something about her being a groupie to a polka band or something; he never actually found out the full details as his mom never told him.

Jack pulls into his destination, and a car jacker threatens them, holding out a gun. Kevin remains calm, unfold a wire coat hanger, and heating it up in the cigarette lighter, then using it to burn the hand of the car jacker forcing him to drop the gun. While the car jacker is jumping in pain, Kevin ties him up and knocks him out.

The car jacker wakes up in a garage, restrained by Christmas lights, where upon Kevin calls him a "home invader". Jack goes to leave, but Kevin tells him to stay. The car jacker asks Kevin what he's going to do, and Kevin tells him that firstly, he'll inspect every crevice of his body with forceps. He mentions that he can't find his scalpel, but he'll pick another one up later. Kevin turns on the Christmas lights that the car jacker is wrapped in, and then proceeds to torture him whilst he screams. Kevin dances around, half-nude, covered in blood, before rising up in front of the camera, clearly deranged.

Trivia[]

  • Kevin's ringtone is the Home Alone theme.
  • Kevin mentions all of the ways he was mistreated during the first film, and how he's been affected.
  • The name of the short film is a play on the title of the original film, Home Alone.

Goofs[]

  • Kevin mentions that the Wet Bandits don't curse. However, in the first Home Alone movie, Marv whispers "s**t" when he drops his shoe through the doggy door. And Harry has moments where he curses under his breath, and they can be recognized when subtitled.
