Frito Lays Crunch Tators were hot and spicy jalapeno potato chips with a really hard crunch and were available around the late 1980's and early 1990's. There was an alligator on the front of the bag. The two flavors were: "Hoppin' Jalapeno" and "Mighty Mesquite BBQ".
