Heather McCallister was the oldest child of Georgette and Rob McCallister and the older sister of Rod, Steffan and twin girls.
Biography[]
Heather once lived in New York with her parents Rob and Georgette as well as her four younger siblings and attended Northwestern University.
One summer, her father Rob was given a promotion, with a job transfer to Paris as part of it. While her family moved from New York to the French capital, she and her first brother Rod remained in the United States as both were still studying: Heather had to complete her college education, while Rod, on the other hand, was still in high school, moving to Ohio and living with their father's eldest brother Frank, his wife Leslie, and their children Tracy, Brooke, Sondra, and Fuller. They tagged along with the Illinois McCallisters for the trip to Paris.[1]
At the Winnetka McCallisters' house, while preparing for the trip, Heather asked her cousin Tracy if she ordered the pizza to which Tracy told her that Buzz did. She also told Harry Lyme – disguised as a police officer – that her parents were in Paris after he asked if they were there at the house. Heather later ate pizza with her family, who were collectively upset with her cousin Kevin after he caused an incident with Buzz.[1]
The next day as the family was preparing to leave, Heather's aunt Kate told her to count heads by making sure that everyone was in the vans. During the headcount, Heather unknowingly mistook a neighborhood kid named Mitch Murphy for Kevin, and they left without the latter. In Paris, after Kevin's absence was noticed, while Kate tried to make a phone call to the Chicago Police, Heather attempted to make a phone call to someone in Chicago who could go check on Kevin, to no avail.[1]
Heather later went to her parents' apartment along with Frank, Peter, Leslie, and her cousins while her Aunt Kate tried to get a flight to Chicago. Heather later helped her father and brother decorate the Christmas Tree.

- When taking the head count, Heather counts herself twice and does not count Linnie.
- Of the fifteen McCallisters in the first movie, Heather is the only one who does not return in Home Alone 2. Being an adult, she likely moved to Paris to live with her parents or is now living on her own.
- The script states that she is 19 years old.
- In the junior novelization when they arrive in Paris and realize Kevin has been left behind, Heather reveals that she could have swore she counted Kevin and feels remorseful for not realizing her mistake.
