A currently untitled reboot of the Home Alone franchise was announced in August 2019, exclusively for the Disney+ streaming service.

This film will reportedly mark the first time Kevin McCallister appears in the franchise since Home Alone 4, although he won't be the leading protagonist. Marv and Harry reunite for the first time since Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

In October 2019, the film was reported to be written by Mikey Day and Streeter Seidel. Hutch Parker and Dan Wilson will be producing the film, with Dan Mazer in talks to direct. According to reports, the protagonist will be a nine-year-old boy named Max.[2]

In December, it was reported that Archie Yates would be playing the lead role, with Rob Delaney and Ellie Kemper also in the cast.[3]
