John Hughes (February 18, 1950-August 6, 2009) was the writer and producer of the first 3 Home Alone films.
Early life
Hughes was born in Lansing, Michigan. He graduated from Glenbrook North High School and started his job as a writer for National Lampoon before he later switched on to writing and producing live action comedy films. He is known for producing and writing Home Alone, Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, Home Alone 3, and other successful comedy films.
Death
Hughes died of a heart attack in New York City on August 6, 2009. He is buried in Lake Forest Cemetery.
