Johnny was a character from the film Angels with Filthy Souls, its sequel, Angels with Even Filthier Souls; and a remake of the first film.

Biography[]

Angels with Filthy Souls[]

In one scene, Johnny got a knock at his door and he asked who it was. Snakes came in, announcing that he had "the stuff" which Johnny told him to leave it on the door step and then get out. Snakes then asked Johnny about money he was owed, having been told by Acey that he was owed ten percent of the cut. Johnny, smirking, said that Acey was no longer in charge, and that he was "upstairs taking a bath" and would call Snakes when he got out.[1]

Johnny then picked up a Tommy Gun and told Snakes that he was going give him "to the count of ten to get your ugly, yellow, no-good kiester off my property before I pump your guts full of lead.". Snakes nervously apologized and agreed to leave. However, Johnny cut the count short, getting to two and then skipping to ten and shooting Snakes while laughing maniacally. After he killed him, Johnny stared at Snakes' dead body on the ground and said, "Keep the change, you filthy animal!"

Though initially frightened by this scene, Kevin McCallister used it to order a pizza, and prank the Little Nero's Pizza man. He used it again, to scare away crook, Marv Murchins, who was investigating the house, and lit firecrackers in a pot to enhance the sound of the gunshots. Marv told his partner Harry Lyme that he heard two other crooks in the house having an argument, that ended with one murdering the other. Although Marv wanted to flee, Harry suggested they stick around, and wait for the murderer to exit the house, so they'd be able to identify him to the police if they got questioned about the murder or robbery. Eventually the two saw Kevin in the backyard, and realized that they had been tricked.[1]

Angels with Even Filthier Souls[]

Johnny in Angels With Even Filther Souls

In one scene, Johnny was sitting in his apartment smoking a cigarette and watching a movie when his girlfriend Carlotta entered, knowing it was her after smelling her getting off the elevator. When Johnny asked Carlotta if she was at his apartment the previous night, Carlotta replied that she was singing at The Blue Monkey that night.[2]

Johnny then accused Carlotta that she's been smooching with his brother, which Carlotta denied. Johnny did not believe her and accused her of smooching with other guys as well, such as Snuffy, Al, Leo, Little Mo with the gimpy leg, Cheeks, Bony Bob, and Cliff. Carlotta again denied the accusations. Johnny responded that he may believe her, but drew his Tommy Gun, saying that it did not believe her. Carlotta desperately pleaded to Johnny that she was faithful to him. Johnny demanded that she get down on her knees and declare her love for him. Carlotta said that she was over the moon for him, and, when that did not impress Johnny, she exclaimed that if her love for him was an ocean, "Lindy" would have to take two airplanes to get across it. Johnny claimed he now does believe Carlotta and would let her go, but he then ordered her to get her "lousy, lying, lowdown, four-flushing carcass" out of his apartment before he counts to three. However, he fired his gun at her and killed her while laughing maniacally once again before he reached three. Johnny then said, "Merry Christmas, you filthy animal!" and fired a couple more shots. He then said, "And a Happy New Year!" before firing one more shot.

When the Plaza Hotel staff come into the room to confront Kevin about his father's stolen credit card, he hid in the other room and used this scene to trick the staff into thinking Johnny was now in the hotel room, which led to an awkward conversation between Johnny and Hector. Johnny asked if Hector had been in the room the night before, and Hector admitted it he had been. Johnny then accused Hector of smooching with his brother. Hector grinned in embarrassment possibly assuming Johnny was referring to the shower incident from the night before, but he denied the accusation. Johnny rejected the denial, and accused Hector of smooching with all the other guys, including Snuffy, Al, Leo, Little Mo with the gimpy leg, Cheeks, Bony Bob, and Cliff. One of the security guards with Hector, whose name coincidentally was Cliff gasped in shock, and denied it. Hector claimed they were there to find a young man. Johnny claimed to believe them, but then exclaimed that his Tommy gun didn't, much to the staff's horror. Johnny then ordered them to get down on their knees and claimed they loved him. The five staff kneeled down, and Hector reluctantly exclaimed "I love you!" much to Kevin's amusement. When that didn't please Johnny, the five staff all exclaimed "I love you!" in unison. Johnny seemed pleased with this, and said he'd let them go, much to their relief. But he exclaimed he'd give them to the count of three to get out. The five fled the room and hit the floor in the hallways, covering their heads to dodge the bullets they heard coming from the room. As other hotel guests heard the commotion, they peeked out of their rooms to investigate. Hector ordered them to remain in their rooms as that room had an insane guest with a gun. Meanwhile, Kevin took advantage of the ensuing confusion to flee only to get caught by Harry and Marv.[2]

Remake[]

The remake featured the same scene with Snakes and Johnny from the first, but with Johnny's office being located on a spaceship.[3]

Trivia[]

  • In the first film, it is implied that Johnny likely had already killed Acey, who he claimed was no longer in charge, before Snakes had arrived. His "taking a bath" line implies he was either cleaning his dead body so it had less chance of showing incriminating evidence or, perhaps even more likely, dissolving it in sulfuric acid.
  • In the second film, Mr. Hector grins in embarrassment, when he thinks Johnny is accusing him of smooching with his brother. It is possible he thinks Johnny is referring to the seemingly embarrassing encounter Mr. Hector had the previous night, with his seeing what he thought was Kevin's father singing and dancing to 'Cool Jerk' in the shower, and getting threatened with a slapping for it.
  • Unlike Snakes and Carlotta, Kevin doesn't pause Johnny's lines to trick the Pizza Boy in the first movie and the Hotel Staff in the second movie.
  • It is implied that Marv has seen Angels with Filthy Souls before, as he told Harry that he recognized Johnny's voice, as well as heard the name "Snakes".
  • It is possible that Kevin may have seen Angels with Even Filthier Souls before since he knew that Johnny was going to say "you were smoochin' with my brother." He may have also seen Carlotta "smooching" with Johnny's brother earlier in the movie, provoking him to say it.
