Karen Pruitt is the mother to Alex, Molly, and Stan, and the wife of Jack.

Personality

She is wonderful, feisty, motherly, and kind and she also loves her family very much.

Home Alone 3

Alex returns from shoveling snow and realizes that he has chicken pox. As a result, his mother puts him in bed and leaves for work. After finding out Alex called the police but there being unseen intruders, she tries covering up for him when the police confront them about the supposed "false alarm". After heading back inside, she tells him to get in bed and scolds him for calling the police, believing that he imagined it, but Alex stands up for himself anyway, saying "[he] saw what [he] saw".

After Alex calls the police a second time, she sees the number on her device, and rushes back home. After Alex is given a talking-to by the chief of police, she tells him to apologize, only for him to do so "for being a good citizen". She assures the chief, "It won't happen again. Will it?", turning her attention to Alex. The chief tells her in case of any real emergency, he wouldn't want to discourage him from calling. Later she is on the phone, talking to her new neighbor, who was really one of the burglars, who said that her "son" had a remote-controlled car like Alex's. When she asked Alex about it, he denies it in surprise, and she assures her neighbor that he didn't steal it before getting cut off by her son. She scolds him for it, and Alex tells her to call her back.

When she leaves her son by himself, she finds herself face to face with a military leader who told her about the chip in her son's car and says that he might be in danger, shocking her. When she returns home, she realizes her son was telling the truth and reconciled with him, apologizing for her disbelief. She sees her son rewarded by the military leader and gets very happy for him. By the end of the film, her son tells her that "they couldn't touch [him]".
